What is the difference between TOEIC and TOEFL?

Both are English proficiency tests. TOEFL is used for university and college admissions while the TOEIC test assesses English ability in the workplace and everyday life.

How often can I take the TOEIC test?

The TOEIC Open Test is offered monthly. You can take the test each month.

How can I get TOEIC practice tests?

Previously administered TOEIC tests are NOT released for practice testing. However, two full length practice tests are included in The Official TOEIC Test Preparation Guide.

How do I register for the TOEIC Open Test?

There are three ways to register:

I applied for the TOEIC Open Test but I haven't received my letter or registration number. What should I do?

Please contact us by phone at 1-800-615-8666 at least two days before the test. We will provide you with your registration number and confirm that you are on the test site's list.

What identification do I need to take the TOEIC Open Test?

You must have a valid passport or Canadian driver's license. No other forms of identification will be accepted.

When is the TOEIC office open to take registrations or answer questions by phone?

Our office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm Eastern (Ontario) time. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Canadian holidays.

When will I get my results?

Results are mailed within one week of the test date. In Canada, you should receive your results within two weeks of the test date. For overseas mailing, please allow eight weeks for delivery.

If you do not receive your results by the above times, please contact us. Sometimes results are returned to us due to an address error or if you have moved. If we get your results back from the post office, we can resend them to you at no charge.

To make sure that you get your results, be sure that your address is correct, including your apartment number.

If your results are lost in the mail, you will need to order replacements. The cost is $25^.00 for a Certificate and $15^.00 for a Score Report. There is a $5^.00 charge to send results overseas.

Can I check my score online?

Yes. You can check your score online when you order the Premium Pak when registering for the TOEIC test. The Premium Pack also includes three extra Score Reports. The Premium Pack costs $100^.00 plus tax.

How long are scores valid?

Scores are valid for two years. We cannot issue certificates or Score Reports after that.

Will my Score Report have my picture on it?

Yes, the TOEIC Open Test Score Report now includes your photo;

however, Score Reports from tests at schools do not include photos.

Can I order another Certificate or Score Report?

Yes. Each Certificate costs $25^.00 and each Score Report $15^.00. There is a $5^.00 charge to send results overseas. To order call 1-800-615-8666.

Can you send a copy of my Score Report to a nursing organization or other employer?

Yes. There is no charge to send a Score Report to a professional licensing organization if you indicate this request when you register for the TOEIC Open Test. If you request this after the test, there is a $10^.00 charge. We can send a copy of your Score Report to an employer at a cost of $10^.00 each.
